Societal impact

Both nationally and internationally, increasing attention is being paid to documentation of the benefits and relevance of research to society.

Internationally, the term "societal impact" is often used to describe the effects and benefits and relevance of research for society.

In Denmark, we see a strong political focus on the value research has for society, which is why publicly allocated research funding is increasingly being earmarked for research in issues related to society.

Tools and methods for measuring impact

The report "Impact - Tools and methods for measuring the impact of research" contains a mapping of trends and methods within impact assessment and discusses development trends and challenges. The report was prepared by David Budtz Pedersen from AAU.

Accomplissh

Accomplissh, which stands for "Accelerate co-creation by setting up a multi-actor platform for impact from Sciences and Humanities", is a project that ran from 2016-2018. The newsletters from the project contain a large number of interesting articles about the social impact of the research.

LSE Impact Blog

The LSE Impact Blog is a blog that acts as a hub for researchers, administrative staff, librarians, students, policy institutes and anyone else interested in maximizing the impact of academic work in the social sciences and other disciplines.

The good impact section

The magazine "EU- Information" focuses on the impact in Horizon 2020. It gives you advice from experts on how to maximize the impact of your project and how to write a good impact section. In addition, three successful grant recipients share their experiences of how they scored high in impact.

How to address the Impact part in H2020

In Horizon 2020, the impact is an evaluation parameter in line with excellence. Therefore it is important to spend time exploring and describing the impact of a project. GK Impact Spider

"Impact Spider" is a tool that contributes to the development and optimisation of the application section on the societal impact of a project. By asking several questions, the tool helps to support the consortium and the project in becoming more impact-oriented, and it also helps you describe the impact that the project generates.
