Predatory journals

Be critical of predatory journals without peer review

As a researcher, you must be extra careful not to publish your articles in predatory journals. These journals often have names that are very similar to the titles of journals from recognised publishers, but contrary to recognised journals, predatory journals without peer review are characterised by a lack of transparency as regards fees, buy-out, editorial inspection, circle of owners, etc.

The checklist below can help you identify the so-called scram journals and avoid publishing in them.

Publishing your articles in scram journals may have negative consequences for your academic career as you will not acquire the desired citations or visibility. It may also be harmful to your professional reputation as well as to that of your university.

Contact your research team leader for further information regarding predatory journals.
